Research You have been assigned, at random, an entry level position in 3 police organizations. Your assignment is to imagine that you are an applicant for those positions. You are to research 2 of the 3 organizations and describe important features of each organization , the community or area it serves and the position. Based on the information, explain which organization is a better match to your personal interests, abilities and career goals – and why. Select 1 of the 2 organizations/positions you have researched and for 1 of them identify the major competencies for the position and describe which are cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Determine the selection criteria and pre-employment screening processes related to each of the criteria. To the extend you are able to do so, assess your present abilities with respect to the screening processes for the position.
